We are participating in Worldwide Pinhole Photography Day by offering a pinhole workshop for all skill levels. Participants will learn to build their own simple pinhole camera with which they will create black-and-white paper negatives. We will discuss options for making positive prints. Participants will choose their favorite image, which will then be scanned and uploaded to the Worldwide Pinhole Photography Day website.
Participants are asked to bring a light-tight container. This may be an oatmeal or cigar box, paint or coffee can, or even a dried gourd. If it can be made light-tight, it can become a pinhole camera. Let your imagination guide you. You can save time before the workshop by painting the inside of your container matte black. If you don't have the opportunity, don't worry—we'll have supplies on hand. You will also be provided with several sheets of 8x10 black-and-white darkroom paper for use in your camera. These can be cut to size as needed. Additional paper will be available for sale by the sheet, or feel free to bring your own.
