It’s time to gear up for WorldWide Pinhole Photography Day! Learn from Denver’s resident expert on the subject about photography’s simplistic origins in the camera obscura. In this one-day, hands-on intensive workshop you’ll begin with the humble beginnings of a container and end up with a fully functioning pinhole camera as well as paper negative images created from your camera. David works with these handmade cameras in both Color and Black and White. For this workshop we will work with Black and White paper negatives to create negative images in-camera. When processed in our darkroom during class these can be used to make images by contact printing. You can also scan these negatives later to create electronically printed positives.
What You’ll Need:
- Bring Cans, Boxes and containers of any size or shape or kind for camera making
- A couple of empty, clean soda cans
- Bring note-taking materials for notes on the topic from how to build a camera to the specifics discovered in how your camera works.
- All other supplies: paper, chemistry, spray paint, tape and tools will be supplied.
