"Pinhole camera construction and usage"MATOACA MIDDLE SCHOOL
Matoaca, Virginia, United States
DATES: Saturday, February 01, 2014 - Sunday, April 27, 2014
Students have created their own cameras by disassembling and reassembling a salt box, so the the top can be easily removed for insertion of paper. Each student's camera looks different, and creativity was encouraged in the finishing processes. We used ARISTA.EDU ULTRA resin coated paper, semi-matte graded #3. Students develop their own images, and have been learning the new skills of creating a reversal in the darkroom, as well as scanning, and inverting and flipping the image in Photoshop to create a normal positive image. In addition, we are practicing hand-tinting as well as digital tinting of our images. Way to take a 19th century technology into the 21st century!
